What I wore Sunday… Hollywood glamour

There are some outfits that make you feel good about yourself. For one reason or the other, they fit better than anything else you may have in your closet. This particular jumpsuit is one of them for me. I am not sure what it is about it but whenever I decide to wear it, I feel very put together and ready to face whatever is going to happen.

I wanted to share this outfit with you so many times but always something got in a way until now. I got it online after seeing it on another blogger and wore it on quite a few occasions since. It is versatile enough to wear it day and night with the right accessories. As the quality, attention to details and the fit is so good, I know it is one of the items that will stay with me for a very long time.

I styled this jumpsuit with my favourite red lip and statement pair of heels (first shown here). I was not my initial intention but looking at the pictures we have taken, it looks like I had old Hollywood glamour in mind ? What do you think ?

That is what I wore Sunday !!

  1. Hello,Aggie

Definitely a touch of Hollywood glamour going on with that outfit.
I am soo glad you finally got round to showing it off. And the red lipstick with your gorgeous hair
colour is amazing. i really love the lace effect top under the suit. Oooh, it`s all lovely. Much better
than how I was dressed today,

  2. Hello, Aggie (though I would much prefer to use your proper name because it is lovely.)
We British have never excelled in languages. And many can`t speak their own properly,
and tend to reduce words to about four or five letters. We are soo lazy.
`Aggie` has a Scots sound to it. But if you prefer to use it, then I shall, too
Do tell more about this. I love it soo much.
And if you could pick a style of dress from a bygone era. what would it be;and why?
This is not easy. I have two favorites, so you can pick two, too

    1. How does this comment relate to the blog post? I think if someone chooses to shorten their name, then that is their choice. I have been following Aggie for a while now, and I don’t really understand where you are going with this comment.

  3. Ooops. I apologize. It was simply a comment that is not going anywhere.
In truth it was related to a previous post, as was not meant to offend.

    1. Hi Jo, no offence taken, just thought it was an odd comment to leave, just for my own curiosity, what is Jo shortened from? I also don’t mean to cause offence and apologize if I have.

      1. Hi, Emma. You were right to point out my error, and no offence taken.
It is a long story, but the name on my birth certificate is, John. However, my mother called me Jo (yes, Jo) from the beginning. And if I was being very good, Jojo. But these days, just plain old Jo. I hope that explains your question.

      2. Aww, thank you, Emma. It’s not in my nature to bring anyone down. My Mum taught me to be kind and respectful to all. Perhaps I have a bit of a feminine side to me. Growing up in a house full of dress designs and lovely materials must have rubbed off on to me. My Mum took inspiration from Dior’s ‘New Look’ of 1947. Big dresses with more than full skirts. Lots of tulle and tafetta. All very swishy. So I am biased towards that look; also the Empire Line dresses from the 1800s. Think Jane Austen. Sprig Muslin etc.
The 50s look is back in, in these parts. I hope you get to wear one of those pretty dresses.

  4. Jo and Emma !!
It is so good to have you both here xx
I appreciate all the comments and interest !!
As for the name… not a big deal for me. I feel that my full name was given to me at birth whereas the name I am using now was worked for and that is what I identify with.
As for the gone by areas I have never consider ‘time-traveling’ but if I was to choose I would go for early twenty century and 1950s… What would be your choice ?

  5. Hi Aggie, I love the look above. It is so classy that I think it could take you through any era, and I would have to go with you and say the 50’s is the fashion I would have loved to have been able to wear. Hopefully it may come back around so we have the opportunity.
Jo, it wasn’t an error that I wanted to point out, my apologies as I assumed you are female, I totally misunderstood and thought you where trying to bring Aggie down as all to often many females do to one another.
