What I wore Sunday… best of the high street

Shopping on the high street can be a very good experience, not only because items are generally more affordable but also due to some amazing quality finds. There are a lot of pieces that are not worth your time and money but if you look a little bit deeper, you will find some treasures.

The dress shown today is from H&M and it comes from collaboration between the clothing giant and the fabric designer GP & J Baker. They are famous for their prints and with more than 100 years of tradition, the collection does not disappoint.

When I saw this dress first, I was not sure if the style was something that would suit me but when I tried it I knew instantly that I love it. Wrap dress as a style is completely new to me but with this dress being such a hit, I will shop it in the future.

The rest of the outfit is nothing that you have not seen before. My trusted pair of sandals and a cross-body bag that goes well with most of my outfits.

So that is all I wore last Sunday !

What I wore Sunday… polka dot

When I heard about dilapidated estate waiting to be demolished covered in street art, I knew it is a place I have to visit. I am not sure what is it about street art I like so much but I guess it must be self-expression aspect of it.

As I cannot draw and I have very little if any manual or artistic skills, I express myself through the outfits I wear. This is one is very simple and comfortable yet put together in my opinion. I bought this dress few weeks ago and I wore it non-stop. It seems to be good for casual outgoing as well as work and going out depending on the matching accessories. And as polka dot is a print that never goes out of style, I am intending to wear it season after season !

As my outfit is very monochrome (read boring for some), I decided to add a splash of colour and went for my statement red lip. It is very interesting how much confidence you can get out of the lipstick, but it works for me every time.

So that is what I wore Sunday !

What I wore Sunday… broderie anglaise

Summer is made for dresses and with such a nice weather in the whole of Europe, I am taking full advantage of that situation every single day. More often that not, I stay away from vibrant colours but the dress shown today is one of the exceptions.

When I first saw it, I loved it instantly but decided against buying it due to the price. I debated for quite some time and when I eventually got it, I knew instantly that it was a very good decision.

If you follow me for a while, you may know that I like things that last. Made out of natural fabrics with maybe slightly higher price point but that will serve their purpose season after season. Despite common believe and what I may show you on my blog, label does not matter. I am very keen on supporting and discovering smaller brands with right work ethics and using responsibly sources fabrics so if you have any recommendations let me know !

Moving to the outfit shown today it is nothing new but it feels comfortable and serves the purpose. The dress combined with my favourite bag this season and a pair of black espadrilles is all I could come up with and I like it a lot…

July

It feels like forever since I have done my end of the month post. I have missed June, mostly due to traveling and work but I am glad that I am back this month.

July has been hot and for the first time since moving to UK, it feels like proper summer. You will not believe how happy I am that I can finally wear my lighter clothing and enjoy the sun.

You may know that I had a chance to visit Berlin last month and it was a dream come true for me. I had it on my wish list for a very long time and I can honestly say that Berlin feels like home. The language and the culture maybe different but the layout of the streets, the trams, the bus stops and mostly the tower blocks reminded me very much of my home town…

If you are interested in that trip, there is a Berlin vlog on my channel that hopeful will give you better view of this amazing city.

Due to work commitments, I had less time for the blog and I have not done as many posts as maybe I would like to. I still have many ideas for the future so stay tuned for that !

If there is one item of clothing I have been loving in July, it would have to be a white dress. It is not anything new or ground-breaking but white dress is so summer appropriate and makes me feel dressed well no matter the occasion.

For more white dresses ideas check out posts here and here.

August will be a very busy month but I am hoping to get some time off in September. I would love to hear your recommendations… where would you like me to travel next ?

Thank you very much for stopping by…

I hope that next month will be even better !
