What I wore Sunday… one day in Athens

We have come back from our Greece trip quite some time ago but I did not have a chance to look at the pictures we have taken until now… Work, commitments, problems and my personal life gets the priority whether I like it or not.

Athens is a capital with a big C. It is noisy, crowded, vast and full of life. I do not think that any other city made such a mix impression on me. I loved the older part of the city, food and the history behind it. I disliked the noise, traffic and how chaotic it felt.

Despite of all of this, it is still a must visit place in my opinion. The whole Acropolis complex, Acropolis Museum, Plaka are just few things that you should not miss. And although I do not regret leaving the hustle and bustle of this lively city behind, I will always remember this trip.

The outfit of the day was made of my newest dress purchase that I have fallen in love the minute I saw it. It is by new to me brand Sea NY and although it is not the most practical of dresses I just cannot get enough of it.

All of the accessories shown today are well-loved by me and if you follow my blog for a while, they will come as a no surprise to you. Sunglasses and a hat are a must for me if I go to any hot countries. I never tan, always burn and I do not seem to handle direct sunlight particularly well…

So that is what I wore sunday (Athens edition) !

I hoped you enjoyed traveling to Athens with me today and thank you very much for stopping by !!

As usual I hope to see you soon…

What I wore Sunday… one day in Sri Lanka

My love of traveling and discovering new and undiscovered is huge… As a result, once a year we try to go far away to the country we have not been to before. This year the country of choice is Sri Lanka. Full of contrasts, with difficult past, poverty mixing with luxury it is a very interesting place. Beautiful beaches, amazing wildlife within national parks, noisy streets and people who make this country are only few things definitely worth discovering… But more on that in the coming weeks !

For this very causal day, I went all white with a touch of black. I bought this beautiful dress, quite some time ago (on sale) but if felt too special for everyday use and I waited for the right time to wear it. The detail and the lace is on it, is truly special and I know it is timeless enough that I will be able to wear it in five or ten years time.

I pair it with my favourite pair of sandals and a Sensi Studio hat that you may have already seen here and here. These accessories are such a good quality items and in my opinion go with this outfit very well. Sir Lanka weather is hot and humid and the sun is very strong so wearing a hat is a must for me !

Without further delay that is what I wore Sunday (Sri Lanka style…) !

Current favourites August

The idea for this post came to me quite some time ago as I did one before (available here). I love watching my favourite bloggers uploading videos discussing fashion and beauty choices of the month and their personal recommendations. It helps me to discover and select products and items I would like to try to purchase for myself.

I thought it will be good to share my personal favourites list and see if I can be of any help to anybody ?

I simply cannot get enough of these shoes (first shown here). They are the perfect flat sandal and as I love them so much, I am now considering adding different colour of the same shoes into my collection.

They are not cheap but the quality matches the price and in my opinion they add that special something into every outfit.

When I bought this shirt, I had no idea how much I would love it. It is of a beautiful quality, fits perfectly and it is so versatile that adding different elements of the outfit cannot be easier. It is now a true staple in my closet and one of the few items I could not be without !!

  • Red detail

Something new for me as I was always more conservative when adding injection of colour. But now I love my red lip, it gives a bust of confidence and feels very natural.

I think that adding collar or lipstick it is the best way to experiment with colour without pushing the boundaries too hard… Any recommendations for a new red lipstick for me to try ? My favourite one will be a surprice for some of you but it is this one here !!

Beauty:

If you follow my blog for a while you may know that I am a huge fan of Diptyque fragrances. I have already spoken about another scent before (here) and now I have added this one to my list of must haves. It is so unusual, yet interesting without being overwhelming and at your face.

One of my essentials that I put on most days. It is natural and delicate enough for every day use and will never leave your lips dry and uncomfortable. The colour is a perfect match for me and I love the smell, packaging and presentation.

Culture:

It was not a type of movie I would think I am going to enjoy but I did. Charlize Theron is spectacular and the movie is packed with unexpected twists and surprises. It is maybe on a violent side and it made me uncomfortable at times but all in all so worth seeing. Plus the outfits selection is to die for…

  • Chopin music

Classic music is something that I love and always have, especially in the evening. It helps me to relax and rest properly. Chopin is not for everyone but is something that I have been enjoying and listening to most days in the last few weeks.

What have you been enjoying lately ?

Is there anything else I should try ?

Thank you very much for your visit and I hope to see you all very soon !!

What I wore Sunday… British heritage

I am very fortunate to live in the countryside and be surrounded by a large number of beautiful manor houses with very rich history. As a result, every so often we like to go somewhere new and explore… This particular Sunday we went to Brodsworth Hall and Gardens which dates back to 1860s.

It is known for being one of the most complete examples of Victorian country houses in the whole of England. As much as I liked the house, I have to say it needs extensive renovations. They are costly and only so much can be done at one time. On the other hand, the grounds were spectacular. Everything is so well-kept, it was a true pleasure to take a walk and admire the beautifully manicured lawns and seasonal plants.

For this outgoing I decided to wear my new dress I got few weeks ago. It is made from beautiful and delicate fabric in very pale shade of blue. I do not have anything else like this in my wardrobe and when I saw it, I knew it was a winner.

As the summer in UK is coming to an end very soon, I pair the dress with this distressed leather jacket for a little bit of contrast and the pair of sandals I simply adore. I like the look I have put together and I hope you will like it too !!

So that is what I wore Sunday…

What I wore Sunday… London affair

My affair with London started more than a decade ago. I had a pleasure of getting to know the city in my early twenties, firstly as a holidaymaker and later as an exchanges student. I know that it is not a place where I could live on a daily basis but I enjoy coming back every few months to experience this cosmopolitan and fascinating city.

We have taken all the pictures for today’s post in Mayfair. It is one of the oldest and most well-known parts of the London and as I was surrounded by designer shops and boutiques it seemed like a perfect location.

London with its diversity is full of contrasts. Wealth and poverty are very close neighbours. I always felt (and still do) intimidated by opulence and luxury but somehow London takes it to another level. You can never be too overdress here… So for this afternoon outgoing I decided to wear something that will give me a confidence boost !!

This Maje dress is last season find that I have managed to get in Bicester Village. It is a very unusual print and length for me but I love it. I wanted to buy it last year, however, the price put me off number of times. I am glad that I have resisted the temptation as I manage to get it at almost 40 % in the outlet… The rest of the outfit is my staples that you have seen number of times. I am still in love with these sandals and I am determined to wear them as many ways as it is possible.

So that is what I wore Sunday !!
