What I wore Sunday… all about recycling

Few weeks ago when I was going through the content of my closet, I came across this trench coat that I had in my possession for well over seven years… I bought it because it fitted me well and it had a classic features that I knew would never go out of style. So many years later, I am still happy to wear it without feeling frumpy and old-fashioned.

My personal style has changed significantly over time and I much prefer more masculine items with sneakers and oversized coats worn on repeat (like here and here). But styling classic pieces of clothing I had for a very long time is something that I treasure greatly and would encourage everyone to shop in their closet and give your possessions new life, especially this Spring !

The rest of the outfit is very simple with the only pop of colour being red lining of my trusted handbag. Different shades of blue are very flattering colours and I am happy that I managed to rediscovered them taking these pictures.

That is what I wore this Easter Sunday !

What I wore Sunday… 2017

I have been thinking for some time of how I can show you all the looks from last year in one place. After careful consideration, I have decided to combine them altogether and then split them individually into months.

Looking through the pictures of What I wore Sunday gives me huge amount of satisfaction and pride that I made it work and week after week managed to publish new look. Not all of them make me go wow, but I have learnt a lot along the way of what looks good and what not.

Taking pictures and then editing and choosing the best ones (in my opinion) is time-consuming process. Some weeks I have a couple of hours to finish it all so being perfectionist at heart, I have issues compromising. Having said that, I am happy with everything I have done so far and can confirm none of the pictures have been ever photoshopped or filtered in any way.

So that is what I wore Sundays 2017…

What I wore Sunday… the warmest day in October

Every October since I lived in the UK we have one weekend when the temperature goes up to 20 degrees… It always gave me the chance to wear everything I loved during summer time and style it, maybe in slightly different way. This particular Sunday the choice was an easy one as this bomber jacket and a good pair of jeans are my staples and something I really on heavily !

I like to mix things up from time to time and add trend-led element like this bag and the slogan t-shirt. I had both for quite some time and the quality and versatility in my opinion is second to none. I can understand that obvious branded pieces maybe not to everybody’s taste but I personally love them.

As the weather was so good, I decided to wear my most colourful pair of shoes which added a pop of colour to this simple outfit. They have been in my possession for about year a half and they are perfect. Heel high is just right and I can wear them all day without any discomfort. I would love to have them in hot pink as I do not own anything in that colour but I think that may need to way till spring…

Without any further delay that is what I wore (this warm) Sunday !!

What I wore Sunday… country life is never boring

Living close to nature is something that me going and helps me to relax and switch off. During my days off and weekends, I can just be myself. No noise, distractions and hustle and bustle of the big city. The beauty of my surroundings is truly spectacular ! Almost every village is really special and picture-perfect xx

For today’s outgoing I decided to wear this very old Zara dress, I had in my closet for at least six years… I can still remember the excitement when I bought in Zara in Leeds and I how much I loved it ever since. It is of an exceptional quality that will hopefully stand the test of time. I pair this dress with my new espadrilles and favourite summer bag.

Espadrilles are such a classy choice for summer and I hope that I will be able to style these quite a few times before the beginning of autumn. I went for a black pair from Castaner and I cannot be more happy with my purchase. They are beautifully well-made and also extremely comfortable despite of the hight !

So without the further delay that is what I wore Sunday !!

What I wore Sunday… British heritage

I am very fortunate to live in the countryside and be surrounded by a large number of beautiful manor houses with very rich history. As a result, every so often we like to go somewhere new and explore… This particular Sunday we went to Brodsworth Hall and Gardens which dates back to 1860s.

It is known for being one of the most complete examples of Victorian country houses in the whole of England. As much as I liked the house, I have to say it needs extensive renovations. They are costly and only so much can be done at one time. On the other hand, the grounds were spectacular. Everything is so well-kept, it was a true pleasure to take a walk and admire the beautifully manicured lawns and seasonal plants.

For this outgoing I decided to wear my new dress I got few weeks ago. It is made from beautiful and delicate fabric in very pale shade of blue. I do not have anything else like this in my wardrobe and when I saw it, I knew it was a winner.

As the summer in UK is coming to an end very soon, I pair the dress with this distressed leather jacket for a little bit of contrast and the pair of sandals I simply adore. I like the look I have put together and I hope you will like it too !!

So that is what I wore Sunday…

Social media and how not to judge the book by its cover…

This post will be quite different to my usual routine but I feel like need to address it and get it out of my chest. Quite recently I have heard the comment about myself and my shopping habits. It was not anything nasty or unpleasant but it made me reflect and I think it is good time to share it with you !

I started my blog and social media journey in order to share and maybe inspire, never to show off. I never buy anything just to take a picture and then give it away or sell… I have been interested in fashion in particular for as long as I can remember. When I was growing up, wanting or pursuing job in fashion industry would be considered risky or irresponsible to say the least. As a result, I have chosen a different career which as much as I love, it does not satisfy all my ambitions.

I do my weekly outfits post to show you guys, how I dress, what I like to wear and where I am investing in. I hope that checking my blog, Instagram account and YouTube channel will spark the joy within you, make you smile and maybe inspire to try something new or different that you have not tried before.

I like my closet big in order to allow me to shop around in my own wardrobe. I love recycling and looking after my belongings. Some items you will see over and over again here as they are true staples in my mind.

Coming out of my comfort zone is something I like to try from time to time in order to experiment and push the boundaries if that makes any sense.

So, I would love to hear from you… Do you find fashion blogs and Instagram accounts useful and enjoyable or self-centred and pushy ?

As I am trying to start a discussion, I am allowing all the comments without the need to leave your email address and all the usual details that are sometimes too time consuming to be bothered !

What do you think ?

What I wore Sunday… back in my comfort zone

As much as love traveling, coming back home after a holiday is always a relief for me. I cannot wait to sleep in my own bed and just be at home for a couple of days. That need for rest and isolation is a very short one as after about a week or so I cannot resist to plan our next vacation…

The outfit I am showing you today is a very casual one, with a nice pair of heels and a designer clutch bag to add that more luxury feel. Everything I am wearing today, makes me feel comfortable and I love each and every one of these pieces.

The only new thing featured here is this leather jacket by AllSaints that I got during my recent visit to Bicester Village. It was originally retailing for over £300 and I have managed to get it for under £150 !! I am not sure if that is a rule with all the leather jacket, but most AllSaints jackets run big to size so if you are thinking of getting one, my advise would be to definitely size down…

Leather jacket is one of those transitional pieces that will take through all seasons. You can pair it with the summer dress and heels for more romantic vibe or pair of trainers and jeans for a dress down look. If you interested in more styling ideas, I would recommend to check out this post here.

All of the pictures taken for today’s post are from the nearby village which I really like. It is quintessential British and has that amazing feel about it. Small shop, post office, nice pub and a hairdresser that is all that is needed…

So without further delay… that is what I wore Sunday !
