October

I always look forward to reflecting on what have happened in the last 30 days. I know that I have already mentioned this but it is so eye-opening process that helps me to prioritize and gives me the sense of achievement.

My professional life has been a centre of attention in October and whether right or wrong my priority on most days. Work-life balance is something that I struggle with and may need to address it in the near future.

As for my private life, the main highlight of the month would have to be our trip to Brighton. As my husband told me, it was a very original choice of destination but no regrets there… Seeing new places, taking everything in and memorizing is a real journey that I do not want to end.

The blog post you liked the most in October was beauty-related and can be found here if you missed it. The one you liked the least was a fairly recent style-related one, well-worth checking out in my opinion (available here).

I had a few fashion favourites lately, mostly clothing ones. To name just one or two, this coat from Zara is an absolute dream and the quality of the fabric is second to none. It reminds me of high-end giants coats like Joseph or MaxMara. Zara can be a difficult place to shop as the quality vary from item to item. That is why, I like to visit the store and get the feel of the item before buying anything.

Another piece of clothing I have been wearing non-stop since I got it, is this silk shirt from & Other Stories. The fabric is very delicate, more spring appropriate but the way this shirt makes me feel is supper cosy and comfortable. It is a trusty staple that will stay in my closet for a very long time !

Finally, I decided to develop my YouTube channel further and as a result I will try to publish at least one video a week. Creating videos is definitely more demanding than anything else I have tried before but the more I do it, the more pleasure and satisfaction I get out of it.

Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope to hear from you very soon !!

What was your October like ?

August

I feel like August was a good month for me. Not everything I set to achieve happened but that is what life is all about. Expecting unexpected is something that I always keep in mind !

What August has taught me is to stand my ground and believe in myself more. Self-confidence is something that I have to work on constantly with some days being better than the others but I think I am winning xx

Fashion-wise it was a very adventurous month. I made few purchases, some of which you may had a chance to see on the blog or my Instagram account.

My favourite new thing would have to be a pair of espadrilles from Castaner (first shown here). They are the most classic pair, exceptionally made and they will stay in my closet for a very long time !

Another thing worth mentioning is this Zara set, I got at the end of the month. I was eyeing this knit from the moment I first saw it but the shirt was a total surprise. I am not a huge fan of the prints, especially 70s inspired but somehow I could stop myself from trying it on. The end result is quite obvious on this picture !

Statistic-wise two most popular blog posts of last month would be from What I wore Sunday series Country life is never boring followed closely by Hollywood glamour. Interestingly, my personal favourite would be the end of the month for July. Looking back on the last thirty days, gives me sense of satisfaction and achievement.

I have also added an additional feature to my blog. It is called Shop my closet and you can find it in the main panel next to menu and contact links. I will try to list all my new finds as well as some timeless pieces from my wardrobe in case you are interested !!

Finally, I am really looking forward to September. The beginning of a new season as well as my wedding anniversary makes that month really special. I have one or two things planned that will come as a surprise so stay tuned for that !!

As usual thank you very much for stopping by and for all the interest and support xx

Hope to see you all soon,

Few words about guilty pleasures…

I have to start with the confession that I have self-discipline build in me. From the very early years, I knew how to divide my time and when to play and when to learn and do my homework. During my university years when I was exposed to constant tests and exams that self-discipline became even more obvious. As a result, I may have occasional difficulty to switch off and just relax. I feel the more I have on my plate, the better I can perform but I also know that there is limit to what I should handle.

That is where the guilty pleasures are coming and saving my sanity and help me to relax.  Having work-life balance is very important to me to be able to keep distance and enjoy my life. Everything listed below is very personal to me and as everybody is different your needs and necessities will vary.

Theses are mine (but keep it secret !):

  • Eighties music (the cheesier the better) especially when I am driving on my own and when I can sing along…
  • Shopping for holidays when I am not going on one… I will start the minute I come back home after a longer trip. It is difficult to explain but I love it !
  • Binging on YouTube… My favourite channels will include Fleur DeForce, Tanya Burr or Chase Amie !
  • Shopping in Space NK… It is a boutique beauty chain with the best selection of brands you can imagine. I love spending my money there but I am not sure if my husband can say the same…
  • Anything to do with yoga ! I try to do yoga most days, especially in the morning to wake me up. I have been practising it for over 10 years and nothing works better for mind and body.
  • Online shopping is something I love… Sometimes browsing is enough but every now and again I feel like I need to pull the trigger and treat myself !
  • Coffee !! I love going out for a cup or two… I like my coffee strong with a touch of milk so coffee of choice would be flat white.
  • Pancakes and waffles… I like mine with fruits and maple syrup all every day not only on Sundays !

I would love to hear about your guilty pleasures… Care enough share ?

Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope to see you back very soon !

What I wore Sunday… country life is never boring

Living close to nature is something that me going and helps me to relax and switch off. During my days off and weekends, I can just be myself. No noise, distractions and hustle and bustle of the big city. The beauty of my surroundings is truly spectacular ! Almost every village is really special and picture-perfect xx

For today’s outgoing I decided to wear this very old Zara dress, I had in my closet for at least six years… I can still remember the excitement when I bought in Zara in Leeds and I how much I loved it ever since. It is of an exceptional quality that will hopefully stand the test of time. I pair this dress with my new espadrilles and favourite summer bag.

Espadrilles are such a classy choice for summer and I hope that I will be able to style these quite a few times before the beginning of autumn. I went for a black pair from Castaner and I cannot be more happy with my purchase. They are beautifully well-made and also extremely comfortable despite of the hight !

So without the further delay that is what I wore Sunday !!

July

July has come to an end and as usual I thought I will give you an update on what has been happening… Last month was a very intense one for me with work and my private life blending into one and demanding more and more from me on the daily basis.

The most memorable part of the month would be, without the shadow of the doubt, my trip to Italy. I loved everything about Tuscany and I really hope that we would be able to return many times…

IMG_9187

Florence is by far of my favourite place I have been to… It is better that you can imagine, but crowds and heat can make it more difficult to enjoy…

My beloved city… Florence in its glory !!

Famous Chianti wine is being produced in Tuscany and it is the most consumed red wine in the whole USA !

I love Vespa scooters so much that I have been taking pictures wherever I saw them… Love the variety of colours too !!

July is always a good month when it comes to sales shopping and this year was no exception. Normally, sales would start much earlier but by this time the items are reduced to the maximum.

However, before I buy anything nowadays, I will ask myself if the item in question adds anything to my wardrobe ? If the answer is yes, I may be tempted.

I have not bought that many things, but I still managed to get a bargain or two. I really hope you will like these items as much as I do…

IMG_1983

I got this Michael Kors last weekend from Flannels in Leeds and I love it ! I do not have anything like this in my wardrobe and I think it is a staple item that will stay with me for a very long time !!

IMG_1964

I wanted a decent leather jacket for some time now and when I saw this one by AllSaints in Bicester Village reduced by over 50 % I knew it is the one…

IMG_9855

I saw this skirt on Emma Hill YouTube channel and I instantly knew I have to get it although it was not on sale… You know then you know !!

I have also made some time this month for a little bit of culture and went to the cinema twice and to a rock concert. As much as I enjoyed all of the activities, the movie I would recommend more that nothing else this month is The Beguiled. The story is very twisted and watching it made me feel uncomfortable to say the least but it also made me to reflect. The decisions we make and the consequences that they bring can go much further that we can expect…

And finally, I have been working on my YouTube channel and managed to publish some videos. I have linked my latest one, comparing Chanel WOC and my opinion of this classic bag. I would be thrilled for you to watch it, subscribe to my channel and give me some support and feedback !!

Many thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you all very soon !!

Love,

Aggie xx
