What I wore Sunday… broderie anglaise

Summer is made for dresses and with such a nice weather in the whole of Europe, I am taking full advantage of that situation every single day. More often that not, I stay away from vibrant colours but the dress shown today is one of the exceptions.

When I first saw it, I loved it instantly but decided against buying it due to the price. I debated for quite some time and when I eventually got it, I knew instantly that it was a very good decision.

If you follow me for a while, you may know that I like things that last. Made out of natural fabrics with maybe slightly higher price point but that will serve their purpose season after season. Despite common believe and what I may show you on my blog, label does not matter. I am very keen on supporting and discovering smaller brands with right work ethics and using responsibly sources fabrics so if you have any recommendations let me know !

Moving to the outfit shown today it is nothing new but it feels comfortable and serves the purpose. The dress combined with my favourite bag this season and a pair of black espadrilles is all I could come up with and I like it a lot…

What I wore Sunday… new beginnings

Starting new year, month or week gives me the sense of opportunity to reflect and think about where I am heading. This year I really took time to stop for a minute and try to put my priorities right. What is important to me and what matters most… I really hope that this reflection will accompany me for the rest of the year and I would hope to share my findings with you in the near future…

Pictures for today’s post were taken at the end of last year on one of the festive days. Streets were empty and I had a chance to put on an outfit I wanted to try for quite some time now. I was very fortunate to receive these over the knee boots as a Christmas present and they are everything and more of what I hoped for. Very high and flattering with the beautiful finish and to top it all up comfortable enough to wear them all day long.

I have paired them with one of my favourite dresses and a coat that have been in my possession for well over five years now. Every time I wear it, somebody will always comment on it and as it was a sale purchase, I can definitely say it was a money well spent !

So without further delay that is what I wore that Sunday !

What I wore Sunday… London affair

My affair with London started more than a decade ago. I had a pleasure of getting to know the city in my early twenties, firstly as a holidaymaker and later as an exchanges student. I know that it is not a place where I could live on a daily basis but I enjoy coming back every few months to experience this cosmopolitan and fascinating city.

We have taken all the pictures for today’s post in Mayfair. It is one of the oldest and most well-known parts of the London and as I was surrounded by designer shops and boutiques it seemed like a perfect location.

London with its diversity is full of contrasts. Wealth and poverty are very close neighbours. I always felt (and still do) intimidated by opulence and luxury but somehow London takes it to another level. You can never be too overdress here… So for this afternoon outgoing I decided to wear something that will give me a confidence boost !!

This Maje dress is last season find that I have managed to get in Bicester Village. It is a very unusual print and length for me but I love it. I wanted to buy it last year, however, the price put me off number of times. I am glad that I have resisted the temptation as I manage to get it at almost 40 % in the outlet… The rest of the outfit is my staples that you have seen number of times. I am still in love with these sandals and I am determined to wear them as many ways as it is possible.

So that is what I wore Sunday !!

What I wore Sunday…when the graffiti tells a story

I have first noticed this graffiti when I was driving past it well over a week ago. At the time I did not know what was on it, all I have seen was how big it was. I instantly knew that I want to take some pictures there. When I have realised that is all about South Africa journey to freedom and human rights I could not be more happy as the subject is very close my heart.

I am fascinated by the story of Nelson Mandela and South Africa itself is on top spot for my travel destination. I really hope that I would be able to fulfil that dream in the near future !

As for the outfit is very simple. I wanted something that will make a statement but I wanted the background and the graffiti to be on first plan… Black and red seemed like a dream combination.

My dress is from my long-time favourite brand Maje. I bought it in Bicester Village about six months ago and I wore it on at least three or four different occasions. I love the simplicity of this cut and the detachable scalloped collar that adds that special something to this very plain outfit.

Maje is a French ready to wear brand that has been a long favourite of mine. Their dresses are very feminine and beautiful put together. Their cut suits me perfect and although their items are on the pricy side I think they are worth the investment as they will stay in your wardrobe for a very long time. I have another dress from that brand that I hope to share with you very soon.

So without further delay that is what I wore Sunday !!

Discount shopping anybody ? … Bicester !

I am sure we all agree that everybody likes a bargain ! I hate wasting money and by wasting money I mean buying something not worth the money of poor quality or unnecessary.

Quite some time ago a good friend of ours introduced me to the outlet shopping village called Bicester. It is enormous and as the official website tells me it has more that 130 fashion boutiques. All the shops are descent space and the selection of goods is surprisingly current. The choice is endless as both high street and high-end are represented here. My favourite brands present in Bicester will include All Saints, Barbour, Tommy Hilfiger as well as Dior, YSL or Burberry.

Bicester is an extremely interesting place to shop for one more reason (apart from the minimum discount of 30 % from the retail price up to 70 % during sales). You are not allowed to film or photograph inside the shops only to keep you guessing of what stock shops have ? It is unpredictable experience and you will never know if you are able to find anything you like or your trip will be unsuccessful.

Transport links are very convenient as the village is located in close proximity to Oxford. You can travel from London by train, bus or car. More details are available on Bicester official website which is linked here.

It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The only think I cannot stress enough is the unpredictability of the shopping experience. Stock will change very frequently so be patient and be prepared to go home without all of the items on your shopping list !

Taking this opportunity I would like to share some of my best finds with the brief description of the item and some advice. So let’s begin !

One of my oldest purchases and the most loved beautiful dress by L.K.Bennett worn to the wedding of my friends back in 2015 ! I got is as a sample sale item and paid less than £50 for it !

Finding comfortable bag that is as light as the feather is tricky… This handbag delivers that and is of beautiful quality by italian brand Bottega Veneta. I bought it back quite some time ago and it was definitely money well spent !

The most recent purchase Maje dress with detachable collar. It was waiting for me in the store with only one left in my size and over 50 % off the original price.

Handbag that I was searching for over the year… When I discovered it, it was already sold out. Never in my life I would have guessed that I find it in Bicester. It is by Tod’s and when the shopping assistant brought me this burgundy one I started jumping up and down. Price reduction was 50 % and in my opinion it was a complete bargain !

Finally, my most recent jeans purchase (more pictures available here and here). They are by Belstaff the brand my husband loves. The quality of the coating on that pair is unbelievable and with 60 % off it was difficult to complain !

That is just a few examples of the stars you can find in the village. Whatever your budget is, I am sure you will find something to suit your needs.

Do you know of any other outlet villages around the world worth visiting ? If so, please let me know !

As usual, many thanks for stopping by !

Love,

Aggie xx
