Fashion trends for Autumn-Winter 2017/2018

With Autumn fast approaching, I thought it will be a good idea to give you all an update on what is yet to come in fashion world. As you know, I am not huge on fast-changing trends but every now and again, I like to introduce or experiment with something new.

Before I start, I would like to say that fashion should be fun but never buy something just because it is fashionable or popular. Find things you love and that are going to work for you and your lifestyle.

So without further delay that is what is coming soon:

  • All red

Red is such a beautiful colour but for one reason or the other I never had the courage to wear it. I tried to introduce it step by step as a lipstick or collar detail and eventually as the whole outfit.

Finding the right shade of red maybe difficult but it is so worth it. Nothing gives me so much confidence as my red lip but more on the subject very soon !!

  • Metallics or shine

I love a good metallic pleated skirt but wearing metallics head to toes is far too adventurous for me. When I am not sure a trend will work for me, I try to introduce it step by step… starting from a skirt or a blouse to a pair of strappy sandals.

  • Oversize knits with feminine skirts

This trend has me written all over !! I love the idea of thick, chunky knit and more delicate skirt and over-the-knee boots. I will definitely experiment with this trend in the near future so stay tuned for that.

  • Mini skirts and dresses

Whether something will be classed as mini or midi may mean different things for different people. For me it is anything above the knee but what designers have in mind is much more out there !! I do not think I am as brave as that but you never know ?

  • Suits

Suits are back in fashion, especially the grey ones with sharp cuts and more 80s vibe. This particular trend is not me but I do not want to write it off just yet and I am happy to add a checked blazer into my autumn closet.

  • All about the waistline

Highlighting the waist is most likely my favourite trend for the new season. Although I am not huge on belts, I am willing to experiment and one or two new ones into my collection. It is a very feminine trend and executed correctly can be very flattering.

  • More florals

Floral were big during spring and summer this year but the ones for autumn are darker and maybe less girly. Boho floral dresses are very on point and they will suit me very well !!

What is your favourite trend for the coming seasons ?

Is there anything you are not going to try ?

I would love to hear from you so let me know !!

What I wore Sunday… sunny day in York

Since we moved to England I have been visiting York every couple of months. I love the cobble streets and the beauty of the city centre. Every corner is picture perfect and especially in spring York seems like a best weekend destination if You after a city break. There is so many cafes and restaurants with the easy reach that You are spoiled for choice.

As You know I have been embracing some of the new trends lately and when I saw this jumper I wanted to try it instantly. As I was not sure if it suitable for me I spent some time looking for alternatives and although I have managed to find some (here and here) there was always something that was holding me back.. I eventually decided to get it and I will try to style it for casual and work purposes so if I feature it again and again in here I have to apologise ! I am not an impulse buyer (maybe not any more..) and I take a lot of time to consider my purchases. I try to buy less but things that will stay in my closet for many years to come and will work for variety of occasions.

The skirt and handbag are very good examples of this. I bought this shirt about three years ago and although it is not the simplest of things to work with I am still standing by my purchase. It is from Karen Millen and I remember I bought in Manchester. I think I had a 20 or 25 % voucher when I got it and that helped me justify the cost ! I like to make my money going further and do my best to treasure every of my purchases.

I have added this beautiful pair of shoes for a little bit of colour in this monochrome outfit. Thy are perfect heel height and the colour is to die for. I would like to add another pair of suede heels to my collection maybe in hot pink or red but time will tell.

Enjoy and let me know what are You investing in this season ?
