What I wore Sunday… going out

I am not and never was a party animal. I like to go out every now and again but parting till dawn was never something I enjoyed or did (maybe except my late teens when it was not cool not to do it…). However, it is nice to dress up now and again and go out with some friends or colleagues and that is what I did last night !

The outfit I am sharing with you today is not particularly dressy but I wanted to look and feel fairly casual. I love mixing high street and high-end pieces in order to achieve less polished and more effortless look and I hope it shows…

I wore my trusty Zara coat that I had in my closet for well over two years now. I was obsessed with that style of coats for quite a few seasons and I managed to get a mini collection of my own (one featured here and one more here).

Jeans and top are quite new and they are as well from Zara. That particular pair of jeans is exactly what I wanted. Distressed, in dark blue wash with uneven hem ! I would definitely recommend to check it out as they are very good quality for the price.

So that is what I wore going out this Sunday !

What I wore Sunday… afternoon in York

Out of all the UK cities, I think I visit York the most. There are many reasons for that but if I was to pick one it would be due to its charm and beauty. I love the tiny, cobbled streets and lots of boutique cafes¬†and shops including my favourite brands like Kiehl’s, Jo Malone, Whistles or Mulberry.

We visited York during Bank Holiday weekend last week and it was full of people. The weather was fabulous and we decided to do exact opposite and rather than going into town, head to the canal and observe life from the distance. We had some luck as the sun came out and we managed to take these pictures, which are probably one of my favourites ever.

You may remember that I already wore this dress, quite some time ago when I was just starting my blogging adventure (check it out here). It is much more feminine and delicate that I would normally go for but somehow I like it like that. I pair it with my trusty bag that has been my favourite for some time now and really old espadrilles that I got in Spain about six years ago.

Without further delay that is what I wore that Sunday…

Bangkok

Traveling is something that excites me greatly ! I love that feeling when I am going somewhere where I have not been before. It does not really matter if the destination is 50 or 5000 miles away from my home. Adventure and taste of unknown is the same..

I had an enormous pleasure to visit Bangkok for our first wedding anniversary. It is difficult to say why we chose that city for that occasion but I have no regrets. It is such a vibrant place, never in my life I have seen so much street food, traffic, taxis and life going on…

We visited Bangkok in September and the weather was very hot and humid. Even traveling from one spot in the capital to another seemed like a proper challenge. Transport wise taxis are available anywhere and they are cheap but be prepared to be stuck in traffic !! You can also travel by boat (public or private), Skytain, tuk-tuk, motorbike taxi or bus.

There is so much to see in Bangkok that spending a week there is not enough.. My personal favourite attractions include:

  • Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha is enormous and absolutely breath-taking..)
  • Grand Palace complex a must even if You in Bangkok for a day
  • Floating market (we visited Taling Chan Market- real experience…)
  • Jim Thompson house and shop- simply beautiful !
  • Blue Elephant restaurant- real institution in Bangkok, Thai cuisine at its best !

Be my guest and enjoy Thai hospitality which is one of the best I have ever experienced..

When you discover that you are popular in Thailand..

I feel that every time I travel I benefit not only from amazing memories and pictures. I change and grow as a person and that is something that keeps me going until I have the next chance to escape my daily grind.

Please let me know if You liked traveling with me and let me know where would You like to go next ?

Date night

I am not a romantic person and my idea of the date night is staying at home and watching House of Cards with a cup of earl grey. However, from time to time it is nice to make an effort and dress in a more feminine way. I had a pleasure of staying overnight in Lincoln this weekend as a part of a treasure hunt (I will keep You updated on that..) and we decided to spend the evening in town.

I tried to keep my romantic spirit going by putting on this dress but wanted to add a twist with a military style coat. The dress is my newest purchase from TopshopРvery delicate piece that will see You through the wedding season as well as those special occasions date nights.. The coat is a real treasure from Zara that looks like a million dollars, worth every penny I paid for it..

My shoes and handbag have been staple pieces in my wardrobe for some time. I got my handbag as a wedding gift from my awesome husband and shoes were the sale purchase. By creating this look I wanted to prove that high street has as much to offer as designers. The pieces can be equally beautiful and well-made. What matters is the quality of the material and how versatile they are.

I hope You will like what I put together.. please let me know !!

All the pictures are courtesy of my lovely husband.

Wedding day

I am not a girl who dreamed about getting married since my childhood years. When I met my future husband we started building our relationship from scratch and it slowly developed into livelong partnership. After nine years together we decided it is a time to tie a knot and I would not change a thing.

My husband contacted truly amazing wedding planning agency Perfect Day and they helped us organising our day. The whole credit should go to Monika the wedding planner from that agency. We got married in Poland in beautiful city of Krakow. It was a small church wedding with our nearest family and friends. I still remember the happiness of the day and how beautiful and sunny it was. We had our reception in the most intimate and private hotel Copernicus with every detail planned to perfection. Everyone that was invited to the wedding stayed overnight with us so we could celebrate together.

Wedding planning agency¬†was a true live saver. As we both work full-time and the wedding was taking place in Poland it took some organisation and team effort to put¬†everything in place but what we got in return¬†is far more valuable…¬†Beautiful memories and pictures that make us truly happy.

Be our wedding guest !!!

With my proud dad… This beautiful dress I am wearing is by Polish fashion designer Gosia Baczynska. She is known for her unusual fabrics, beautiful laces and¬†visible¬†cuts.

I was really pleased with my choice and I still stand by my decision. My dress was made out of wool which is seems like a strange choice for a wedding dress. But it did work !

As I mention before the wedding reception took place in the beautiful Copernicus Hotel. We stayed there all weekend I cannot fault anything. It makes me truly proud to have that quality of service in my home country !

I cannot imagine anybody else taking our wedding pictures. They are everything and more I could have asked for.

I hope You enjoyed reading this post as much I have enjoyed preparing it !

Shoe business

My shoe obsession started some time ago… cannot remember when ? Maybe with the first pair of good quality, nicely finish pair of high-heels ? I still have then and they are in very good condition.. The pair I am referring to¬†is L.K. Bennet pumps, about four inches high, very comfortable.. After this pair, there was another pair, then one more and so on.

As the obsession developed my desire for a new pair every month seems difficult to control. I can go a long time browsing and looking for a suitable addition to my collection but my favourite ever purchases are related to a special occasion, people I share my memories with and travel.

Let me take You to a trip round the glob for my best shoe-related moments !

As everyday life can get hard it is easier to have something to come back to Your¬†loved ones,¬†Your home¬†and a closet full of shoes.. I love mine for the joy and memories they bring to my mind every time I wear that special pair. Don’t save them for that special occasion that may never come.. Enjoy them daily !!

Love,

Aggie:)

Harrogate

Harrogate is a very special place for me. Whenever we go there, we always have amazing time with good food, beautiful surroundings and amazing atmosphere.

Last weekend was my birthday celebration weekend and we decided to take a day trip there. My husband managed to book a table at the newly open restaurant Restaurant 92 .

Food was really good and I also managed to do a little bit of shopping so all in all it was a very good day.

Please be my guest and enjoy some of the pictures taken that day.
