Best luxury buys of 2017

My inability to compromise often gets me in trouble, especially when incomes to shopping. When I see something I really like, made out of incredible fabric with huge attention to detail, I find it incredibly difficult to substitute or leave behind.

Having said that I have to admit that majority of my more expensive buys is very well-thought through. I do not impulse buy much as I have huge respect towards mine and my husband’s hard work and everyday efforts. I like for my purchases to be of good quality but most importantly they must be needed and serving the purpose.

I had a good look at everything I bought in 2017 and have shortlisted all the pieces featured below as my best buys. Some are from premium high-street some from big designer labels but you have for sure seen them on this blog before.

So let’s begin…

Accessories:

  • Dior So Real Sunglasses (similar)

I love wearing sunglasses. They instantly elevate the whole look and add that special something to how I feel. These were on a pricy side but in my opinion are worth the money. I have been wearing them on repeat and planning on doing the same this year.

Panama style white hat is in my opinion a must in every wardrobe. I got mine at the end of June and have been loving it. As you may have noticed I like to wear a hat from time to time and this one is just perfect.

I got this scarf at the end of the year and although I have not featured it a great deal on this blog, I promised you that I have been wearing it all the time. It is of exceptional quality and having had some many high-street equivalents in the past, I can honestly say it is worth the splurge !

Shoes:

  • Gianvito Rossi Plexi Pumps (similar)

I got this pair on sale (with over 50% off) after debating for a very long time if I should buy them or not. They are very flattering, I really like the colour combination, they are easy to look after and they make me feel very put together !

Ps. They look more uncomfortable than they are… I promise !

  • Gianvito Rossi Portofino Sandals (similar in suede)

There are no words to describe how much I love this pair… They are by far one the most comfortable shoes I have, being one of the most flattering at the same time. I would love to add another pair in different colour to my collection this year but only time will tell if that happens !

Another pair that win on the comfort front for me. They are not to everyone’s taste but I personally find them extremely easy to style, flattering and versatile so much so that you are probably fed up of seeing them on this blog !

Handbags:

I got this bag as a Christmas present back in 2016 nad although I had some initial problems with the strap and I ended up exchanging the original bag I know it was worth the effort. This bag is indestructible and perfect for work. I love everything about it and would recommend it without the slightest doubt.

This is without the slightest hesitation my most used bag of 2017. I bought it back in March and have been loving it ever since. It is perfect for day and night, the colour is very versatile but the biggest surprise for me was how comfortable the strap is ! Worth the investment and I will continue to use it in 2018 !

Clothing:

  • AllSaints Leather Jacket (similar)

This jacket is one of the best value for money items I got all year. I have managed to secure it with a massive 50% discount but to tell you the truth it is worth full price. The fit and the quality of the leather is exceptional. My only tip if you want to give it a go would be to downsize as like with all the leather items the jacket will stretch !

Denim shirt seems like a must in most closets and this one is an excellent choice. It is the best quality fabric and the fit is very flattering ! Every time I wear it, somebody will comment on how much they like it and I understand why…

I hope you have enjoyed my shortlist and I have inspired you to make your own… It really opens the eyes of what is worth spending your money on and what you can give it a miss !

I will be publishing a video, going in more details on why I have chosen the items I did so make sure you subscribe to my channel for more !

Thank you very much for stopping by !

September

September came and went like there was no tomorrow. I was a good month, but wish I celebrated and treasured every moment even more than I did as there was so many good ones…

The main focal point of September was our trip to Sri Lanka as well as our wedding anniversary. I tried to document as much as possible and I am planning on sharing more videos with you in the coming weeks. I did a lookbook this week on my YouTube channel showing what I have been wearing during our escape. Something new from me that I have not done ever before but putting it together gave me huge satisfaction and I hope you will like it too !!

Reflecting on my blog activity is always very interesting and this month came as a surprise to me. The post that you viewed and liked the most was What I wore Sunday… anniversary dinner followed closely by What I wore Sunday… afternoon in York.

The least popular was Sri Lanka safari which was one of my favourite posts to write and maybe something quite different and unexpected.

There were many things I loved in September but if I was asked to name a few it would have to be my black leather jacket and Panama style hat that you probably seen far too much !!

I have made one or two purchases lately and the one I would highly recommend is this denim shirt from Topshop. The quality is really good and it is such a versatile style that I am planning on styling over and over again !!

One day in Tuscany

When I look at the pictures from Tuscany, I get the impression that whatever I see is not real… But the reality is even better. Everything is just picture perfect ! I cannot imagine anybody visiting that part of Italy and not falling in love with this beautiful countryside, wineries and rustic farmhouses on every corner.

During our week in Tuscany, I could not resist the temptation of taking as many pictures as possible to document every move in order to share my happiness and joy of visiting Italy with all of my readers. As a result, I would like to take you all on a road with me for just one day…

The day started with beautiful and sunny morning walk… The house that we were staying at was truly spectacular and very Italian. Ideal rural location with just right amount of luxury !

Our first stop on the roads was Lucca which is located about two hours drive from our accommodation. It is a beautiful city and the one that is most loved in the whole Tuscany. It is famous for its Renaissance walls and characteristic cobblestone streets. Lucca has an incredible charm so driving there was a real pleasure !

For the outfit of the day, I decided to go for something casual that would make me feel comfortable yet dressed appropriately. I paired my beloved jumpsuit with the newest addition to my wardrobe… a pair of Topshop sliders ! They are extremely comfortable with animal print adding something extra to the whole design. The quality of the finish is really good for the price and I would highly recommend to check them out if you have a chance !!

We ended our visit in Lucca by having this delicious lunch in one of many restaurants in the city centre. Everything was so tasty and fresh !!

For our next stop we decided to go to the seaside. It was a very spontaneous decision but I have no regrets. We drove to the nearest resort called Viareggio. It is a seaside town with fabulous sea front and very good infrastructure. There was so many bars and restaurants and the beach itself was really good as well. We also found a pier with some amazing views !!

After few hours of sunbathing and relaxing we decided it was time to go home as the drive back was well over two hours… But that was not the end of the day as we had a table book in the village restaurant so after refreshing, changing and resting we went to eat and enjoy the end of one of my favourite days ever !

This is a sneak peek of what I was wearing that evening but more on that will follow soon !!

I hope you have enjoyed the day trip in Tuscany and I hope to see you soon !!

Many thanks for stopping by…

June

June has gone so fast that I have not had a chance to stop and reflect… It is something that I like to do whenever I closed a chapter in my life. It maybe after the end of the month, year or after a significant change in my circumstances. I try to look at the positives and address everything that I should have done that I have not… so I do not feel like I am drowning…

Last month have been better for me that I have expected. There were so many things that I was worried about that in the end turned up to be not so scary after all !!

I have also made some new purchases for summer time and I will be more than thrilled to share them with you in the very near future !! As I am currently enjoying little get away, my biggest priority were summer accessories and clothing. These are just few examples of what came to my possession lately…
